About Lulu Girls High School
Mekaela Academies is an umbrella organization operating nine schools (centers of excellence) in Kwale County, Kenya. Founded in 1993 by members of the German charitable society 'Watoto e.V.', the organization provides quality education to approximately 2,500 children. The schools are structured to meet the needs of children at different life stages, offering education from pre-unit through senior high school levels. The institution implements the Competence Based Education curriculum through both online and in-person learning methods. For over 30 years, Mekaela Academies has focused on transforming lives through values-based education, establishing itself as a well-regarded and high-performing educational group in the region. The organization's vision is to provide affordable quality education for every child in Kenya, while its mission centers on discovering the best in every child. They emphasize lifelong learning by equipping students with analytical thinking skills to become independent thinkers and high performers in their chosen careers. The academies report significant success metrics, including positively impacting over 1,000 students since opening, maintaining a 100% student success rate in life preparation, and consistently producing top-performing students for 30 consecutive years.
