About Kenya Relief Academy
KenyaRelief is a humanitarian organization operating in southwestern Kenya, focused on supporting at-risk children and families through comprehensive community development programs. The organization has been active for over 20 years, addressing critical needs in an underserved region where the nearest district hospital operates at capacity and the closest maternal health clinic is approximately 32 kilometers away, with poor roads and limited mobile connectivity hindering access to essential services. KenyaRelief's work includes medical care through the Brase Clinic and Vision Center, which provides healthcare and surgical services at low or no cost to impoverished communities, often performing life-saving procedures for people who might otherwise never see a doctor. The organization also runs Brittney's Home of Grace, offering holistic care for vulnerable children, and the Kenya Relief Academy, a safe, nurturing educational environment. Additionally, KenyaRelief coordinates mission teams, sending around 20 short-term groups annually to support various initiatives, and employs over 140 Kenyans locally. In 2019, the organization impacted over 12,075 lives, involved more than 400 volunteers, and distributed over 150 mobility carts. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including educators, skilled tradespeople, computer technicians, athletic trainers, and security specialists, are welcomed to contribute. KenyaRelief operates both in the US and Kenya, with a leadership team managing its international efforts.
