The International Cancer Institute is a not-for-profit organization based in Eldoret, Kenya, dedicated to advancing cancer care, education, and research across sub-Saharan Africa. With over six years of experience, the institute serves cancer patients, healthcare professionals, governments, and communities throughout the region. The institute has screened over 35,000 patients for various cancers and trained more than 10,000 healthcare professionals through over 60 clinical and non-clinical courses, skills training sessions, and workshops. It operates programs in five countries across sub-Saharan Africa. The organization advocates for early detection, optimal treatment, and data-driven care for cancer and hematologic conditions like sickle cell disease, utilizing innovative tools and cutting-edge therapies. It is also committed to training the next generation of multi-disciplinary cancer specialists and fostering community outreach. Clinical services include affordable cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care, with a team of oncologists and hematologists. The institute offers specialized care for blood disorders and runs clinical trials for new treatments. Additional programs include medication access programs that provide subsidized cancer drugs, laboratory services, telemedicine initiatives, a digital pathology program, and multidisciplinary oncology training. It partners with The Wellness & Creation Hive Limited to offer support and hospitality to patients during treatment, similar to the 'McDonald's House' model. The institute accepts various insurance plans and offers subsidized rates for services, making care accessible even without insurance.
